Every month, once your end of month process has been completed, it is important that you understand your results. Whilst looking at the P&L and balance sheet can give you a great view, it is important that you look at the results in other formats so that you can truly understand them. It is also vital that you review other areas of the business and KPIs so you can get a complete picture of the way your business is operating.

A company’s cash flow is just as important as the main financials such as the P&L and balance sheet. You need to understand the cash flow of your business so you can provide a focus on the liquidity of the business and not just the profit/bottom line. Understanding how and when cash flows in to and out of the business helps the bank balance remain positive. This is done by utilising the information to help decide what your direction should be on payment terms for  your debtors and negotiating on settlement terms for your creditors. It also helps you understand what might be coming and how you can prepare e.g. reinvesting profit rather than distributing to shareholders or applying for additional finance. We collate everything in an easy to understand format so the audit can be conducted both quicker and more efficiently. We remove pressure on staff for questions that have to be answered throughout the audit process by acting on their behalf, standing as a go-between between the business and the auditor as the main communicator.
